Rising Tensions in the Middle East, Tariffs, and Rate Cuts

Tuesday Jun 17, 2025
This week, Matt, Isaac, and John are tackling three major headlines from the finance world: tariffs, The Fed being pressured to lower rates, and whether or not the rising tensions in the Middle East is having an impact on the markets.
Matt is a bit surprised the markets haven’t changed at all since the Israeli strikes on Iran, while Isaac is not surprised at all. John is relieved and hopes peace can be settled with the U.S. acting as a mediator. Perhaps good can come from the situation. The tariff drama may finally be coming to an end as more deals are going to paper, and hopefully this all leads to more production in the U.S.
And finally, Trump has been publicly calling out The Fed chairman, Jerome Powell, and demanding rates be cut. This leads the three hosts into a discussion on whether or not a rate cut should take place or maybe the Fed should simply let the economy work itself out.
